There was an upset when higher rankedMestre (10-14) was defeated at home by eighteenth ranked Puglia (8-16) 78-74 on Saturday. Puglia made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Pierre Brooks II (198-2002, college: Butler) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import point guard Russ Smith (183-1991, college: Louisville) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American Wayne Stewart Jr (201-1996, college: ETAMU) who recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Matteo Parravicini (187-2001) added 17 points respectively. Mestre's coach Mattia Ferrari tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Puglia moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Forli and Milano Urania. Loser Mestre dropped to the fourteenth position with 14 games lost.
