There was no surprise when 14th rankedCantu (4-14) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Umana Venezia (12-5) 86-81 on Saturday. Venezia made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Canadian power forward Kyle Wiltjer (207-1992, college: Gonzaga) scored 22 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard RJ Cole (182-1999, college: UConn) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Xavier Sneed (196-1997, college: Kansas St., agency: Octagon Europe) with 10 points and 8 assists and his fellow American import guard Erick Green (190-1991, college: Virginia Tech) scored 16 points. Four Venezia and five Cantu players scored in double figures. Cantu's coach Nicola Brienza tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Umana Venezia have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Cantu keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost.
