Fourteenth-rankedMestre (11-15) was very close to win a game against eighth ranked Rieti (16-10) on Sunday. Rieti managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80 . However their fans expected much easier game. Center Tommaso Guariglia (205-1997) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Darius Perry (188-1999, college: UCF) supported him with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 14 points and 4 assists by point guard Costantino Bechi (182-2002) did not help to save the game for Mestre . American Wayne Stewart Jr (201-1996, college: ETAMU) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Five Rieti and four Mestre players scored in double figures. Mestre's coach Mattia Ferrari tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Rieti moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Mestre keeps the fourteenth position with 15 games lost.
