Very important is a road loss of second rankedBrindisi (19-10) against ninth ranked Rimini (18-11) on Sunday night. Visiting Brindisi was defeated by Rimini in Rimini 84-70 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Brindisi. The former international swingman Pierpaolo Marini (193-1993, agency: Players Group) notched 21 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Mark Ogden (206-1994, college: Utah Tech) supported him with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Five Rimini players scored in double figures. Rimini's coach Sandro Dell'Agnello allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 22 points by American guard Zach Copeland (193-1997, college: Illinois St.) did not help to save the game for Brindisi . Power forward Giovanni Vildera (205-1995) added 11 points and 12 rebounds. Rimini moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Fortitudo and Rieti. Brindisi at the other side keeps the second position with ten games lost. Rimini will play against Fortitudo (#7) in Bologna in the next round. Brindisi will play at home against Rieti (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
