An interesting game where hostVarese (#8) won against 5th ranked Tortona 97-87 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tortona. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian point guard Ike Iroegbu (188-1995, college: WSU) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists and American guard Taze Moore (196-1998, college: Houston) who added 17 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Armenian guard Christian Vital (188-1997, college: UConn) with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Polish center Dominik Olejniczak (213-1996, college: FSU) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. Five Openjobmetis Varese and four Tortona players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Varese maintains eighth position with 11-13 record. Loser Tortona keeps the fifth place with eight games lost.
