Date: March 29, 2026
There was a minor upset when 12th rankedSassari (8-16) was defeated at home by fifteenth ranked Treviso (5-18) 108-103 on Sunday. Treviso made 28-of-37 free shots (75.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Alessandro Cappelletti (186-1995) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and American swingman JP Macura (196-1995, college: Xavier) who added 23 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Carlos Marshall Jr (198-1999, college: Santa Clara) with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Lithuanian Laurynas Beliauskas (194-1997) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Four Treviso and five Sassari players scored in double figures. Sassari's coach Massimo Bulleri rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Treviso maintains fifteenth position with 5-18 record. Sassari lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. Treviso will meet at home higher ranked Tortona (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sassari will play against Cantu (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
