There was an upset when higher rankedTrieste (11-12) was crushed on the road by fourteenth ranked Cantu (7-17) 97-76 on Sunday. Cantu dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Trieste 's 40. They outrebounded Trieste 41-22 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cantu looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Mali center Oumar Ballo (213-2002, college: Indiana) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Erick Green (190-1991, college: Virginia Tech) who added 20 points during the contest. Cantu's coach Nicola Brienza felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Australian forward Josh Bannan (208-2001, college: Montana) with 22 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Colbey Ross (185-1998, college: Pepperdine) scored 8 points and 8 assists. Five Cantu and four Trieste players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Cantu maintains fourteenth position with 7-17 record. Loser Trieste keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Reggio Emilia.
