We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Klaipeda where twelfth ranked Perlas-MRU (2-4) beat 11th ranked Nafta-Uni. (2-4) 81-65. The game without a history. Perlas-MRU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Perlas-MRU outrebounded Nafta-Uni. 39-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) notched 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (198-93) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Perlas-MRU's coach Arvydas Gronskis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by center Deividas Keburys (202-90) did not help to save the game for Nafta-Uni.. point guard Mindaugas Stasys (180-86) added 12 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Perlas-MRU moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Nafta-Uni. Perlas-MRU will play against higher ranked Zalgiris II (#7) in Kaunas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nafta-Uni. will play at home against the league's second-placed Palanga where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
