Regular Season Round 10: Dzukija - Juventus 62-75

Very expected game in Alytus where 10th ranked Dzukija (1-7) was defeated by fourth ranked Juventus (6-4) 75-62. It looked good early as Dzukija took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Juventus had a 28-16 second period charge getting the lead and Dzukija was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-75. They outrebounded Dzukija 38-27 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Juventus players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Egidijus Dimsa (204-85) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Edgaras Zelionis (201-89) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Nerijus Varnelis (201-78) replied with 12 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Giedrius Gustas (190-80, agency: Alti Sport) added 17 points in the effort for Dzukija. Dzukija's coach Andrej Urlep rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Juventus have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 6-4 record. Dzukija lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Juventus' next round opponent will be higher ranked Vytautas (#3) in Prienai and it may be the game of the week. Dzukija will play at home against Nevezis (#7) and hope to win that game.
