Regular Season Round 22: Vytis - Perlas-MRU 88-84

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Sakiai. Third ranked Vytis faced 4th ranked Perlas-MRU. Host Vytis (15-7) defeated guests from Vilnius (13-9) 88-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Perlas-MRU. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 23-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Vytis shot 65.1 percent from the field and made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Guard Paulius Beliavicius (194-88) scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) during the contest. At the losing side forward Domantas Pipiras (203-91) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Margiris Normantas (194-96) scored 17 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Perlas-MRU's coach Arvydas Gronskis let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vytis have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 15-7 record having just three points less than leader Mazeikiai. Loser Perlas-MRU dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. Vytis will meet Delikatesas (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Perlas-MRU will play against Lietkabelis-2 (#14) and hope to secure a win.
