Regular Season Round 18: Dzukija - Vytautas 77-63

Bottom-ranked Dzukija managed to get a second victory, breaking the eleven-game losing streak. This time they won against fourth-ranked Vytautas in Alytus 77-63. It looked good early as Vytautas took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dzukija had a 21-14 second period charge getting the lead and Vytautas was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-77. Forward Osvaldas Macernis (200-82) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Simonas Serapinas (198-82) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Dainius Salenga (197-77) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) scored 4 points and 11 rebounds. Four Vytautas players scored in double figures. Dzukija maintains tenth position with 2-13 record. Vytautas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Neptunas. Dzukija will play against higher ranked Siauliai (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vytautas will play against Neptunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
