Regular Season Round 25: Rasai - Vytis 86-96

Not a big story in a game in Raseiniai where 12th ranked Rasai (7-18) was defeated by third ranked Vytis (18-7) 96-86 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Vytis. Rasai managed to win second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Vytis won last quarter 27-19. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Ignas Vaitkus (183-98) fired 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Guard Dominykas Domarkas (187-92) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. American guard Gabriel Moton (191-91, college: Brandeis) produced a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Valdemaras Savostjanovas (200-84) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Vytis have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain third place with 18-7 record having just three points less than leader Suduva-Mantinga. Loser Rasai dropped to the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Vytis will meet at home Petrochema (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rasai will play against Lietkabelis-2 (#14) in Panevezys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
