Regular Season Round 26: Suduva-Mantinga - Silute 96-58

NKL top team - Suduva-Mantinga (21-4) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Silute (12-13) in Marijampole 96-58. The game was mostly controlled by Suduva-Mantinga. Silute managed to win second period 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Suduva-Mantinga dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Silute's 32. Suduva-Mantinga forced 25 Silute turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Silute's players. Swingman Gintautas Matulis (196-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 5 assists. Guard Evaldas Saulys (190-93) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 18 rebounds and American guard Ulysses Thomas (190-92, college: Kentucky St.) added 11 points in the effort for Silute. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Silute's coach Robertas Kuncaitis gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Suduva-Mantinga have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-4 record. Silute lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with 13 games lost.
