Regular Season Round 10: Dzukija - Vytautas 60-90

Date: December 4, 2017
Bottom-ranked Vytautas managed to get the third consecutive victory. This time they outleveled sixth-ranked Dzukija in Alytus 90-60. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 30-point difference suggests that Vytautas is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. And what about a third win in a row after ...nine consecutive losses. Vytautas had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The former international power forward Egidijus Dimsa (205-85) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Justas Sinica (203-85) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five Vytautas players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Paulius Petrilevicius (200-91, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 8 points and point guard Paulius Danisevicius (178-95) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vytautas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place. Dzukija lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Vytautas will play against league's second-placed Lietkabelis in Panevezys in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Dzukija will play at home against Siauliai (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
