Regular Season Round 27: Taurages - Zalgiris II 73-58

An interesting game took place in Taurage where higher ranked Zalgiris II (15-12) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Taurages (13-15) 73-58 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zalgiris II. The best player for the winners was point guard Aivaras Kvedaravicius (185-88) who scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Paulius Morkeliunas (202-85, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international power forward Gytis Masiulis (206-98) who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and swingman Matas Jogela (198-98) added 11 points respectively. Zalgiris II's coach Tomas Masiulis rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Taurages maintains ninth place with 13-15 record. Loser Zalgiris II keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
