Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Valletta:Valletta L. (#5) and Valletta T. (#7). Valletta L. (3-4) crushed visiting Valletta T. (0-7) by 21 points 139-118 . Valletta L. dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Valletta T. 's 56. They outrebounded Valletta T. 54-10 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Valletta L. players were unselfish on offense dishing 38 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Valletta T. 's players. It was an exceptional evening for Polish Piotr Stelmach (205-1984, college: MSU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 56 points (!!!), 21 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international point guard Nikola Vasovic (180-1992) accounted for 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Five Valletta L. players scored in double figures. Serge Hamparsoumian (-2006) came up with 39 points (!!!) and 5 assists and Saakian Telmanovich (-1967) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Valletta T. in the defeat. Valletta L. moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Valletta T. still closes the standings with seven games lost.
