The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-rankedHibernians (7-2) in Paola on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Valletta L. (5-4) 83-69 . Strangely Hibernians outrebounded Valletta L. 41-28 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for Polish Piotr Stelmach (205-1984, college: MSU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. The former international point guard Nikola Vasovic (180-1992) contributed with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American point guard Derek Brown (183-1995, college: Portland St.) answered with 22 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian-Ukrainian center Ivan Demcesen (216-1991) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Hibernians. Hibernians' coach rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valletta L. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 5-4 record. Hibernians at the other side still keep top position with two games lost.
