The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Valletta:Valletta L. (#5) and Valletta T. (#7). Valletta T. was smashed at home by 31 points 73-104 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Valletta L. dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Valletta T. 's 28. They outrebounded Valletta T. 51-33 including a 40-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Valletta L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Valletta T. 's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Myles Carter (185-1999, college: Delaware St., agency: Diamond Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Polish Piotr Stelmach (205-1984, college: MSU) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Valletta L. players scored in double figures. Valletta L.'s coach Harry Savaya felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Albert Varcallo produced 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Kendall Jordan (185, college: Carlow) added 22 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Valletta L. maintains fifth position with 6-7 record. Newly promoted Valletta T. still closes the standings with 15 games lost.
