The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Valletta:Valletta L. (#5) and Valletta T. (#7). Valletta T. was crushed at home by 31 points 93-124 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Valletta L. dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Valletta T. 's 50. They outrebounded Valletta T. 49-38 including 40 on the defensive glass. Valletta L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Valletta T. 's players. The best player for the winners was Polish Piotr Stelmach (205-1984, college: MSU) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 6 assists (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). Guard Serge Hamparsoumian (175-2006) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Five Valletta L. players scored in double figures. American guard Kendall Jordan (185, college: Carlow) produced a triple-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 10 assists and the other American import forward Albert Varcallo added 30 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Valletta L. maintains fifth place with 8-8 record. Newly promoted Valletta T. still closes the standings.
