There was no surprise in Wloclawek where 5th rankedGornik (5-4) was outplayed by leader Anwil (9-0) 91-60 on Sunday. Anwil had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Anwil made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was British guard Luke Nelson (191-1995, college: UC Irvine) who scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international swingman Michal Michalak (196-1993) chipped in 19 points. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Ike Smith (193-1997, college: Georgia South) who recorded 16 points and the former international center Dariusz Wyka (209-1991) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anwil have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Gornik lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Start and Dziki.
