There was an upset when higher rankedWKS Slask (10-10) was edged by bottom-ranked MKS (6-14) in Dabrowa Gornicza 70-68 on Sunday. The winners were led by American guard Raymond Cowels III (191-1990, college: Santa Clara) who scored that evening 23 points and 5 rebounds and Swedish center Mattias Markusson (217-1996, college: LMU) supported him with 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Even 14 points by the former international guard Marcel Ponitka (194-1997) did not help to save the game for Slask . Dutch power forward Emmanuel Nzekwesi (203-1997, college: ORU) added 12 points for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. MKS have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixteenth position with 6-14 record. Loser WKS Slask keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with Czarni.
