Regular Season Round 11: Lodz - Rzeszow 88-85

The most exciting game of round 11 in the 1Liga took place in Lodz. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th rankedRzeszow (5-5) to third ranked Lodz (8-2) 88-85 on Sunday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rzeszow. Lodz looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Rzeszow 's players. It was a great evening for Aleksander Lewandowski (199-2000) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 assists. The former international guard Marcel Ponitka (194-1997, agency: Alti Sport) helped adding 16 points and 5 assists. Lodz's coach Robert Skibniewski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. responded with 21 points and 7 assists and forward Kacper Mlynarski (202-1992) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Four Lodz and five Rzeszow players scored in double figures. Lodz have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Starogard Gd. Rzeszow at the other side dropped to the ninth position with five games lost.
