There was no surprise in Poznan where bottom-rankedGimbasket (0-30) was crushed by tenth ranked Pyra (14-16) 98-59 on Wednesday. Pyra forced 20 Gimbasket turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Wiktor Berczynski stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and Pawel Wisniewski (195-2005) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Pyra players scored in double figures. Pyra's coach Tomasz Semmler felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. point guard Adam Lugowski (173-2007) responded with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Jaroslaw Dobrucki (194-2008) scored 8 points and 13 rebounds. Pyra have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain tenth place with 14-16 record, which they share with Elblag. Gimbasket at the other side still closes the standings with 30 games lost. Pyra will meet at home higher ranked Gorzow (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gimbasket will play against Pleszew (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
