We should mention about the upset which took place in Wloclawek, where higher rankedStal (14-11) lost to eleventh ranked Anwil (13-12) in a road game 81-90 on Monday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Stal. Anwil looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Icelandic point guard Elvar Fridriksson (182-1994, college: Barry) stepped up and scored 28 points and 9 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners and American forward Tyler Wahl (206-2001, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 23 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side American guard Trenton Gibson (193-2000, college: Indiana St.) responded with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and Latvian power forward Mareks Mejeris (207-1991) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anwil moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Zastal. Loser Stal keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
