There was a small surprise in Gliwice where fifteenth rankedGTK (6-23) beat 12th ranked Twarde Pierniki (11-18) 107-99 on Saturday. GTK had a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The former international Kuba Pisla (199-2004) stepped up and scored 28 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (197-1989, college: Stonehill) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. Slovenian Aljaz Kunc (205-1999, college: Iowa St.) responded with 31 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line !!!) and Serbian Aleksandar Langovic (205-2001) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Arriva P.Cukier players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GTK maintains fifteenth place with 6-23 record. Arriva P.Cukier lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 18 games lost.
