Regular Season Round 8: CSU Sibiu - Craiova 85-78

The most important game in the last round took place in Sibiu between second ranked Craiova (5-3) and sixth ranked CSU Sibiu (5-3) on Saturday night. Craiova was defeated by CSU Sibiu in a tough game on the road 78-85. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. CSU Sibiu dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Craiova's 28. The best player for the winners was American guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St.) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Serbian point guard Igor Mijajlovic (193-84) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Four CSU Sibiu players scored in double figures. Serbian guard Djordje Micic (196-83) produced 15 points and the former international center Catalin Burlacu (210-77, agency: Court Side) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. CSU Sibiu have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Dinamo B. and Craiova. CSU Sibiu is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Gaz Metan (#12) in Medias in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Craiova will play at home against Targu Mures (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
