Regular Season Round 15: Pitesti - UBT Cluj Napoca 82-88

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Pitesti. Second ranked UBT Cluj Napoca faced 3rd placed Pitesti. Guests from Cluj Napoca (11-2) defeated host Pitesti (9-6) 88-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Pitesti. Pitesti was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Pitesti was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Senegalese power forward Ousmane Barro (207-84, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American Kyndall Dykes (192-87, college: New Orleans) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. FYR Macedonian point guard Aleksandar Kostoski (186-88) answered with 21 points and 4 assists and American power forward Vincent Hunter (209-84, college: Arkansas) added 17 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) in the effort for Pitesti. Five UBT Cluj Napoca and four Pitesti players scored in double figures. UBT Cluj Napoca keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Steaua CSM. Pitesti at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. UBT Cluj Napoca will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pitesti will play at home against BC Timisoara (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
