The game between second ranked CSU Sibiu (10-4) and fourth ranked Steaua CSM (9-4) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. CSU Sibiu was defeated by Steaua CSM in Bucuresti 78-68. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of CSU Sibiu. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-68. Steaua CSM made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Steaua CSM outrebounded CSU Sibiu 37-26 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American point guard Brandon Taylor (178-94, college: Utah) fired 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. The former international center Catalin Baciu (214-88, college: Clemson) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Steaua CSM players scored in double figures. American point guard Tyler Laser (185-88, college: E.Illinois) produced 32 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman, agency: Court Side) added 7 points, 8 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Steaua CSM moved-up to third place, which they share with BC Timisoara. CSU Sibiu at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Steaua CSM is looking forward to face Targu Mures (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. CSU Sibiu will play against BC Timisoara (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
