Not a big story in a game when much higher ranked Ploiesti CSU (5-11) was defeated at home by leader Brasov CSU (1-0) 79-68 on Sunday. Power forward Justin Cristea (-2007) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Valeriu Georgescu (188-2007) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Brasov CSU players scored in double figures. Alexandru Chirila (-2003) produced 31 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Mihai Stanescu (-2002) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Despite that victory Brasov CSU went down to fifth position due to points difference. Loser Ploiesti CSU dropped to the third place with 11 games lost.
