The most exciting game of round 9 in the Liga I took place in Bucuresti. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th rankedCluj CSU (11-8) to fifth ranked CSU ASE (12-5) 82-80 on Sunday evening. Cluj CSU was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 26-23 charge of CSU ASE, which allowed them to win the game. They made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Forward Matei-Alexandru Rosu (197-2007) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and forward Mihnea Ilie (197-2006, agency: One Motive Sports) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. CSU ASE's coach Alexandru Serban used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was center Mihnea Brie (196-2001) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and Tudor Zaharie (-2003) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Four CSU ASE and five Cluj CSU players scored in double figures. CSU ASE moved-up to fourth place. Cluj CSU at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost.
