Bottom-rankedNEXTGEN (0-14) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 107-57 loss to sixth ranked Komarno (8-6) in Nitra on Saturday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to NEXTGEN 's 32 and had 23 for 39 from the free-throw line, while NEXTGEN only scored one point from the stripe. Komarno forced 19 NEXTGEN turnovers and outrebounded them 50-24 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Sekou Sylla (195-2000, college: Towson) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Brandon Rush (190, college: YSU) chipped in 24 points and 4 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Komarno players scored in double figures. Point guard Bruno Randuska (191-2008) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and swingman Martin Minarovjech (201-2007) scored 7 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Komarno maintains sixth position with 8-6 record. Loser NEXTGEN still closes the standings with 14 games lost.
