Regular Season Round 17: Slovan B. - Kosice 62-65

The most exciting game of round 17 in the Extraliga took place in Bratislava. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Slovan (9-8) to sixth ranked Kosice (7-10) 65-62 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Slovan B.. Lucia Kasperanova (175-1998) stepped up and scored 28 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Kyra Liasenko chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Zuzana Vargova (184-2002) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Simona Marcova (182-1994) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Kosice maintains sixth place with 7-10 record. Newly promoted Slovan keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Kosice are looking forward to face Samorin (#9) at home in the next round. Slovan will play against Slavia (#3) in Banska Bystrica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
