Second Stage Round 8: Piestanske C. - Young Angels 72-45

The game between Top Four teams took place in Piestany. First ranked host Piestanske C. (26-2) smashed 4th ranked Young Angels (17-11) 72-45. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Young Angels. Piestanske C. forced 22 Young Angels turnovers and outrebounded them 44-31 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Piestanske C. made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward KeShunan James (184-1994, college: Murray St.) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Nigerian center Rita Igbokwe (193-2001, college: Ole Miss) who added 10 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Piestanske C.'s coach Peter Jankovic felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Deijah Blanks (178-1996, college: St.Edward's, agency: DC Sports) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Amira Collins (190-2000, college: NC State, agency: LBM Management) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Piestanske C. have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 26-2 record. Young Angels at the other side keep the fourth place with 11 games lost.
