The most exciting game of round 9 in the Tipos SBL took place in Komarno. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th rankedKomarno (3-5) to fourth ranked Slovan (6-3) 82-80 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Komarno. It was a great shooting night for Slovan especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. 31 personal fouls committed by Komarno helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American point guard Lester Medford Jr (184-1993, college: Baylor, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Canadian Shamiel Stevenson (198-1998, college: Nebraska, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American Kimani Lawrence (202-1998, college: Arizona St.) answered with 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and added 10 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Komarno. Four Komarno players scored in double figures. Slovan moved-up to third place. Komarno at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost.
