The game had a very big importance for second-rankedBurgos SP as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Burgos SP smashed 10th ranked Cartagena at home 112-84 . The best for the losing side was guard Alejandro Jorda (193-1995, college: Cuesta JC) with 17 points and guard Alberto Cabrera (187-1998) scored 9 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Burgos SP (14-1) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Estudiantes. Newly promoted Cartagena keeps the tenth place with nine games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Cartagena will play next round against Cantabria trying to get back on the winning streak. Burgos SP will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Estudiantes in Madrid.
