Regular Season Round 12: La Matanza - Tres Cantos 88-73

There was a change at the Tercera FEB leadership position after last games. Round 12 most important game was a defeat of league's leaderTres Cantos (9-3). They were defeated by fifth ranked La Matanza (8-4) 88-73 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Tres Cantos. La Matanza looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Tres Cantos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Venezuelan swingman Franger Pirela (187-2002) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and point guard Alberto Hernandez (183-1999) who added 25 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Jorge Dominguez (-2001) with 25 points and guard Gonzalo Diaz (186-2004) scored 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Matanza moved-up to third place, which they share with 9 other teams. Newly promoted Tres Cantos still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Elche.
