There was an upset when higher rankedGran Canaria 2 (8-7) lost to eleventh ranked Gandia (6-9) in Las Palmas 70-81 on Saturday. Gandia forced 21 Gran Canaria 2 turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Joe Pleasant (201-2000, college: ACU, agency: Helping Ballers) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Javier Soler (199-2000) accounted for 12 points for the winning side. Four Gandia players scored in double figures. Austrian power forward Fynn Schott (203-2006, agency: LHZ Sport Agency) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Argentinian guard Dylan Bordon (190-2004) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively for Gran Canaria 2 in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gandia have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Gandia maintains eleventh place with 6-9 record. Loser Gran Canaria 2 dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Melilla and Archena.
