There was a small surprise when tenth rankedAlbacete (7-8) edged at home 7th ranked Ponferrada (7-8) 88-85 on Saturday. Strangely Ponferrada outrebounded Albacete 44-32 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Diego De Blas (198-2000) who led the winners and scored 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Point guard Pablo Sanchez (192-2002) accounted for 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Slovenian swingman Matija Samar (194-2004) came up with 30 points and point guard Adria Moncanut (183-2002) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Ponferrada in the defeat. Ponferrada's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Albacete moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Ponferrada .
