Regular Season Round 14: Mataro Parc - Valls 80-76

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Valls (5-8) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Mataro Parc (5-8) 80-76 on Saturday. Mataro Parc made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Forward Imanol Martinez (195-2000) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Adrian Sanchez (200-1994) supported him with 22 points. Even a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) by forward David Loras (204-2002) did not help to save the game for Valls. Guard Oriol Besora (182-1997) added 22 points for the guests. Four Valls players scored in double figures. Valls' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mataro Parc moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Valls and Gymnastica. Mataro Parc will meet higher ranked JAC Sants (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Valls will play against Andratx and hope to secure a win.
