No shocking result in a game when tenth rankedAlcala (6-9) won against at home 14th ranked Pablo Laso (2-13) 83-70 on Saturday. Alcala outrebounded Pablo Laso 40-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Alberto Torres (201-1998, college: Iowa Wesleyan, agency: BIG) who scored 32 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Center Daniel Martin (209-1998) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Santiago Fernandez (195-2000) who recorded 20 points and Serbian center Luka Paunov (208-2003) added 18 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alcala moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 9 other teams. Newly promoted Pablo Laso keeps the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Tobarra. Alcala will meet higher ranked Corralejo (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pablo Laso will play against Real Canoe (#4) and hope to secure a win.
