There was a surprise result when fourteenth rankedMenorca (7-11) beat on the road higher ranked Ourense (10-8) 81-77 on Saturday. Menorca made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international center Victor Arteaga (212-1992) who scored 14 points. Point guard Pol Figueras (187-1998) chipped in 9 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian forward Ben Krikke (206-2001, college: Iowa) who recorded 16 points and 7 rebounds and Jamaican center Romaro Gill (218-1994, college: Seton Hall) added 12 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Menorca moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Ourense lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Burgos T. and Obradoiro.
