Regular Season Round 16: Corralejo - Alcala 60-74

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Alcala (7-9) won against on the road 8th ranked Corralejo (7-9) 74-60 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Alberto Torres (201-1998, college: Iowa Wesleyan, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and Italian guard Valentino Del Grosso (188-2004) who added 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Alcala players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Gonzalo Guerra (196-2003) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Senegalese forward Pape Diop (201-2003) scored 7 points and 11 rebounds. Alcala moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 12 other teams including defeated Corralejo. Alcala will meet at home higher ranked Guadalajara (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Corralejo will play against Real Canoe in Madrid and hope to secure a win.
