Regular Season Round 16: Benidorm - Ontinet 74-77

There was an upset when higher ranked Benidorm (10-4) was edged at home by seventh ranked Ontinet (9-5) 77-74 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Marcos Taeno (190-2002) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Senegalese center Mamadou Diagne (208-1998) who added 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Ontinet players scored in double figures. Ontinet's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side forward Alan Kleinjan (195-1997) responded with 22 points and Sergio Jimena (-2004) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Ontinet moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Paterna. Loser Benidorm dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Sueca. Ontinet will meet at home Murcia Juver (#7) in the next round. Benidorm will play against Denia and hope to secure a win.
