Worth to mention about the upset in a game betweenGipuzkoa (7-13) and Alicante (5-15), which took place in San Sebastian. Higher ranked Gipuzkoa lost at home to seventeenth ranked Alicante 79-83 on Wednesday. Alicante made 34-of-41 free shots (82.9 percent) during the game, while Gipuzkoa only scored fifteen points from the stripe. Even 15 points and 7 rebounds by Canadian-Croatian power forward Josip Vrankic (206-1998, college: Santa Clara, agency: Players Group) did not help to save the game for Gipuzkoa . Argentinian-Italian guard Mateo Diaz (186-2002) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Alicante maintains seventeenth position with 5-15 record. Loser Gipuzkoa keeps the thirteenth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Castello.
