Regular Season Round 20: Jairis - Valencia 73-70

Date: February 13, 2025
The biggest surprise took place in Murcia where host Jairis (12-8) edged league's leader Valencia (16-3) 73-70 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Valencia. The best player for the winners was Swedish guard Frida Eldebrink (174-1988) who scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Morgan Bertsch (193-1997, college: UC Davis, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 17 points. Canadian center Kayla Alexander (193-1991, college: Syracuse) produced 11 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Leticia Romero (173-1995, college: FSU) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four Valencia players scored in double figures. Valencia's coach Ruben Burgos tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Jairis have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 12-8 record. Defending champion Valencia dropped to the second place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Girona. Valencia will play next round against league's leader Girona trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Jairis will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Ferrol on the road.
