Important game to mention about took place in Melilla. Fifth rankedZamora (15-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Melilla (12-7) 69-67 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Melilla. They outrebounded Melilla 40-23 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American Amaya Scott (185-1999, college: GMU, agency: LBM Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Estel Puiggros (175-2001, college: Ball St.) accounted for 8 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Clara Caceres (167-1997) came up with 10 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Maria Torreblanca (178-2000, college: Wyoming) added 8 points respectively for Melilla in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Zamora moved-up to fourth place, which they share with AzulMarino. Melilla at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Zamora will play against bottom-ranked Arxil (#16) in Pontevedra in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Melilla will play on the road against Paterna (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
