Regular Season Round 19: Leon - Cortegada 70-60

The game between third ranked Cortegada (12-7) and fifth ranked Leon (12-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Cortegada was defeated by Leon in Leon 70-60. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Katiana Benitez who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. Uruguayan point guard Josefina Zeballos (172-2003, agency: BIG) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Iria Losada (180-2002, agency: Promo Sport ID) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and forward Gara Jorge (-2001) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Leon moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Cortegada. Leon is looking forward to face Boet Mataro (#9) in Barcelona in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cortegada will play at home against Mondragon (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
