Everything went according to plan when first rankedGijon Circulo (20-2) outleveled on the road 9th ranked Betanzos (8-14) 111-83 on Sunday. Gijon Circulo dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Betanzos ' 46. Michael Okafor (204-2002) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Sharif Idris (204-1999) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. Five Gijon Circulo players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Jorge Abelleira (180-1997) responded with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Brezo Fernandez (198-1999) scored 17 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gijon Circulo have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Newly promoted Gijon Circulo maintains first position with 20-2 record. Betanzos lost fourth consecutive game. Betanzos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams.
