There was a surprise result in San Sebastian where twelfth rankedGipuzkoa (11-17) smashed higher ranked Burgos T. (15-13) 90-69 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Daishon Smith (185-1995, college: ULM) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Canadian-Croatian power forward Josip Vrankic (206-1998, college: Santa Clara) who added 25 points during the contest. Four Gipuzkoa players scored in double figures. At the losing side Brazilian point guard Caio Pacheco (189-1999) responded with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Guinean-French Tidjan Keita (208-1996) scored 12 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gipuzkoa moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Burgos T. keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost.
