Eleventh-rankedAlmeda (9-16) made lots of trouble for first ranked Segle XXI (23-3) in Barcelona on Saturday. The visitors managed to secure only two-point victory 58-56 . However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Almeda. They outrebounded Almeda 47-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Noelia Mourino who scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. Center Nicole Dominguez (206-2007) chipped in 5 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Erola Aliberch (185-2004, college: Morehead St.) produced 18 points and point guard Belen Armengol (170-1992) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Segle XXI have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 23-3 record, which they share with Logrono. Almeda at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 16 games lost.
